30 ವರ್ಷದ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಭೂಮಿ ಹಕ್ಕು ಹೋರಾಟದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಈ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಸ್ಮರಣ ಸಂಚಿಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳ ಜನರು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ತೂಗುಗತ್ತಿ ಭಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಯಾರು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಕ್ರಮಣ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಜ್ಜ ಮುತ್ತಜ್ಜನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಗುವಳಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹಕ್ಕು ಪತ್ರ ನೀಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಜನರು ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಕ್ರಮಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ ಹೊರೆತು ಯಾವುದೇ ರೆಸಾರ್ಟ್, ಉದ್ಯಮ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಐಶಾರಾಮಿ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರು.
