ತುಂಗಾ ನದಿ ಉಳಿವಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸಮಿತಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಹೆಚ್.ಸಿ.ಬಸವರಾಜಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಆದರೆ ಈ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತರು ಕಗ್ಗತ್ತಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಇಷ್ಟೇ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ನಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ನದಿಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ. ತುಂಗಾ ಎಡ ನಾಲೆಯು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಮಧ್ಯಭಾಗದಿಂದ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿದೆ. ನಾಲೆಯ ಮೇಲ್ಭಾಗದ ವಸತಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುವಂತಹ ಕಲುಷಿತ ನೀರು ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುವಂತಹ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಮರೋಗ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನೇಕ ರೋಗಗಳಿಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕೊಳಚೆನೀರು ಇಂಗುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ನಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದು ಅಲ್ಲಾ, ಮುಟ್ಟಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯವಲ್ಲದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತಿರವ ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಸಕ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ‘ತುಂಗಾ ಉಳಿಸಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನ’ವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಪತ್ರ ಚಳುವಳಿಯನ್ನು’ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸಮರ ಪೀಡಿತ ಉಕ್ರೇನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ಸುಮಾರು 15,000 ಭಾರತೀಯರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಬಿರುಸಿನ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಓದು ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆಂದು ಹೋಗಿರುವ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಸದ್ಯದ ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ನಲುಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆತರಲು ಮೋದಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನು ಉಕ್ರೇನ್ ನ ಬೇರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳಿಸಿಕೊಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದೆ.
ದಿನದಿಂದ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಉಕ್ರೇನ್ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬಿಗಡಾಯಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಣು ಸಮರದ ಭೀತಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂತಹದ್ದೊಂದು ಅನಾಹುತಕಾರಿ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಆಗುವ ಮೊದಲು ದೇಶವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆ ತರುವುದು ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಎಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಉನ್ನತಮಟ್ಟದ ತುರ್ತು ಸಭೆ, ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ರೇಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದೆ. ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಉಕ್ರೇನ್ ನ ನಾಲ್ಕು ನೆರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಸಂಯೋಜಿತ ಶ್ರಮವಹಿಸಲು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದೆ.

ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಹ್ಲಾದ್ ಜೋಶಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, 2014ರವರೆಗೆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ 91 ಸಾವಿರ ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾದ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 1.40 ಲಕ್ಷ ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಇದು ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಒಟ್ಟು 12,795 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ 925 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಉದ್ದುದ್ದ ವಿವಿಧ 26 ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳ ಭೂಮಿ ಪೂಜೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ನೀರಿನ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟಿದ್ದರೂ ನೀರಿನ ಬಳಕೆಯ ನಿಯೋಜನೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ನೋವು ಇದೆ ಎಂದರು.
