ಮೇಕೆದಾಟು ಯೋಜನೆ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಾದಯಾತ್ರೆ 2.0 ಅನ್ನು ಭಾನುವಾರದಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಿದೆ. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಜನವಿರೋಧಿ ಧೋರಣೆ ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿ ಆಡಳಿತಾರೂಢ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ರಸ್ತೆಗಿಳಿದು ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಜ್ಜಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಕದನಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದಂತಾಗಿದೆ.

ಮೇಕೆದಾಟು ಪಾದಯಾತ್ರೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತ ಸುಗಮ ದಿಂದ ರಾಮನಗರದ ವರೆಗೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಬಳಿಕ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಸೂಚನೆ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಒದಗಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಮೇಕೆದಾಟು ಯೋಜನೆ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ವಿಳಂಬ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿವೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆರೋಪವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭಾನುವಾರದಂದು ರಾಮನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಐಸಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ರಣದೀಪ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸುರ್ಜೆವಾಲಾ ಅವರಿಂದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪಾದಯಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ, ಡಿ.ಕೆ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್, ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ ಖರ್ಗೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಬಿ.ಎಸ್. ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೆಸರು ಬೂಕನಕೆರೆ ಸಿದ್ದಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ.
ಇವರು ಫೆ. 27, 1943ರಂದು ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕೆ.ಆರ್.ಪೇಟೆ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಬೂಕನಕೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ತುಮಕೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಯಡಿಯೂರು ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಿದ್ಧಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಇವರಿಗೆ ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇವರ ತಂದೆ ಸಿದ್ದಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಯಿ ಪುಟ್ಟತಾಯಮ್ಮ. ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರಿಗೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷವಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ತಾಯಿ ವಿಧಿವಶರಾದರು. ಮಂಡ್ಯದ ಪಿಇಎಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪದವಿಪೂರ್ವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

1965ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆಯ ಗುಮಾಸ್ತರಾಗಿ ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ, ವೀರಭದ್ರ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಯವರ ಶಂಕರ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಗಿರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಮಾಸ್ತರಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿದರು.

1967ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈತ್ರಾದೇವಿಯವರನ್ನು ವಿವಾಹವಾದರು. ನಂತರ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರ್ಡ್‍ವೇರ್ ಮಳಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದರು. ವಿಜಯೇಂದ್ರ, ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ, ಅರುಣಾದೇವಿ, ಪದ್ಮಾವತಿ, ಉಮಾದೇವಿಯವರು ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು. 2004ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ನಿ ಮೈತ್ರಾದೇವಿಯವರು ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದರು.

ಎಸ್.ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಕಾಲೇಜು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕ ಸಂಘದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. 1970ರಲ್ಲಿ ಆರ್ರ್ ಎಸ್‍ಎಸ್‍ನ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಘಟಕದ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಜೀವನ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು. ಜನಸಂಘದ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಧ್ಯಕರಾಗಿಯೂ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡರು. ನಂತರ 1972ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಚುನಾಯಿತರಾದರು. ತುರ್ತು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿತರಾದ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. 1985ರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡರು. 1988ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡರು. 1983ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕಾರಿ ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಶಾಸಕರಾಗಿ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಒಟ್ಟು ಆರು ಬಾರಿ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಶಾಸಕರಾದರು. ಏಳು, ಎಂಟು, ಒಂಬತ್ತು, ಒಂಬತ್ತು, ಹತ್ತು, ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹದಿಮೂರನೇ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದರು.

1994ರ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಂತರ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕರಾದರು. 1999ರ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲನ್ನನುಭವಿಸಿದ ಇವರು ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದರು.

2004ರ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನಃ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷ ನಾಯಕರಾದರು.

2008ರ ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಿ ಗೆಲುವು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಬೆಂಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಜವಾದಿ ಪಕ್ಷದಿಂದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮಾಜಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಬಂಗಾರಪ್ಪನವರನ್ನು ಆಗ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು 45,000ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮತಗಳ ಅಂತರದಿಂದ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮತ ದೊರೆತು, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಮೊಟ್ಟ ಮೊದಲ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಸರಕಾರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ರಚನೆಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಮೇ 30, 2008ರಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಎರಡನೇ ಬಾರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು.

ಜುಲೈ 31, 2011ರಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ನಂತರ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 30, 2011ರಂದು ಶಾಸಕ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಸದಸ್ಯತ್ವಕ್ಕೂ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. 2011ರ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜನತಾ ಪಕ್ಷ ಎಂಬ ನೂತನ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಿದರು. 2012ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜನತಾ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. 2013ರ ಮೇನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜನತಾ ಪಕ್ಷದಿಂದ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಿ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದರು.

ನವೆಂಬರ್ 2013ರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಷರತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವುದಾಗಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು. ಜನವರಿ 2, 2014ರಂದು ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಲೀನಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ 2014ರ ಲೋಕಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯಿಂದ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಿ 3,63,305 ಅಂತರದಿಂದ ಜಯಗಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 12,2007 ರಂದು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲ ರಾಮೇಶ್ವರ ಠಾಕೂರ್ ಅವರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಮೊದಲ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯೆನಿಸಿದರು.

ಬಿಜೆಪಿ-ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಸಮ್ಮಿಶ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಉಪ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾದರು. ಮೊದಲ 20 ತಿಂಗಳು ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಂತರದ 20 ತಿಂಗಳು ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಎಂದು ಸರಕಾರ ರಚನೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಭಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಉಪಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಹಣಕಾಸು ಖಾತೆಗೂ ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ನ. 12, 2007ರಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಚನ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಸಚಿವರಿಗೆ ಖಾತೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ವೇಳೆ ಭಿನ್ನಮತ ಉಲ್ಬಣಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಮ್ಮಿಶ್ರ ಸರಕಾರ ಅಂತ್ಯಗೊಂಡು, ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 19, 2007ರಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಯೋಜನೆ, ಶಾಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ತೆರಳಲು ಸೈಕಲ್, ರೈತರ ಬಜೆಟ್, ಹೀಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಹಲವು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದರು.
