ಉಕ್ರೇನ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧ ಸಾರಿದ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಲವು ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿರುವ ರಷ್ಯಾದ ಜತೆ ಭಾರತದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಜೋ ಬೈಡನ್ ಆಡಳಿತ ಸೂಚ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಗಿನಾ ರೈಮೊಂಡೊ ಅವರು, ರಷ್ಯಾದಿಂದ ರಿಯಾಯಿತಿ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಚ್ಚಾತೈಲ ಖರೀದಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೂ ರಷ್ಯಾದ ಮೇಲಿನ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿರುವ ಭಾರತದ ಕ್ರಮವು ತೀವ್ರ ಬೇಸರ ತರಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು, ‘ಭಾರತದ ಗಡಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ರೇಖೆಯನ್ನು ಚೀನಾ ಮತ್ತೆ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿದರೆ, ರಷ್ಯಾ ತನ್ನ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಬಾರದು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ರಷ್ಯಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಹೇರಿದ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ದೇಶಗಳು ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಪರೋಕ್ಷ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
